Stroke Team Training in the INVN

The mission of the Interdisciplinary Neurovascular Network of the rhine-main area (INVN rhine-main) is to provide differentiated, evidence-based and patient-oriented medical services to patients with neurovascular disorders in the rhine-main region. Besides interdisciplinary stroke care of the highest standard, the INVN rhine-main offers the whole spectrum of neurovascular medicine.
Since 2015, we conduct regular simulation trainings in all hospitals of the stroke network INVN rhine-main. This coordinated team training of an entire regional stroke network is supported by the Angels Initiative. The reorganization of stroke care flanked by regular simulation training proved to be highly efficient, reducing the median ‚door-to-needle’ time to less than 30 minutes. Besides that, it increased the perception of ‚stroke-readiness’ among neurology residents with more than 2 years professional experience. The training was well accepted by the vast majority of participants and its usefulness was rated as ‚very high’.
